Background and Values
BEAM ABA Services was established to provide specialist home- and community-based support to improve the quality of life of children, teenagers, and young adults with primary diagnoses of autism and learning disability. We use the principles of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) that focuses on individualised, person-centred support. More on that here
We provide fully staffed programmes, which comprise a combination of Behaviour Support Workers, Behaviour Support Therapists, Behaviour Technicians, Senior Behaviour Support Therapists, and an ABA Supervisor or ABA Consultant. All of the team providing support are employed, trained, and supervised by us. We do not use agency staff.
We make sure our colleagues receive ongoing training and support. We follow updates from the UK-SBA regarding their competencies and certifications, having previously closely aligned ourselves with BACB standards. Traditionally, we have provided RBT training, RBT supervision, funding towards postgrad and Masters courses, and BCBA supervision to our team. We are now pivoting towards UK-BA(cert) and UK-BA(assist) standards based on the UK-SBA competencies.
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission with a full-time Operations Manager and CQC Registered Manager. You can read our inspection report here [spoiler alert, we’re currently rated ‘Outstanding’ and aim to continue to build on those standards].
We provide full-time support to individuals who are referred to us by a Local Authority, an ICB, and/or by a parent who holds a personalised budget. We do not provide support to private paying families, as we wish for our support to be provided to individuals based on need rather on means.
