News & Updates

April 2026

We are proud to announce that we have now become an Approved Provider with both the UK-SBA and the International Behaviour Analysis Organisation [IBAO]. In order to remain committed to our team’s professional and clinical development, IBAO approval allows us to provide the training and supervision required to support our colleagues to become International Behaviour Therapists [IBT], an internationally recognised credential. This is in addition to us providing supervision and support to colleagues to become UKiBAs and UK-BA(certs).

March 2026

We were delighted to present on 4 topics at the 2026 UK-SBA Conference. These presentations allowed us to showcase some of the work that we do both directly with our young people and also around career and clinical progression. Isha, Chelsea, and Minal, 3 of our brilliant Senior Behaviour Support Therapists, as well as Emily [ABA Consultant] and Catherine [Senior ABA Consultant] presented across the 2 days. We loved presenting our work to our peers, and enjoyed meeting both familiar and new faces at the conference. We are grateful to the UK-SBA for giving us this opportunity.

February 2026

Our weekly disco and music event is a big hit! Our young people come every Monday for a few hours to enjoy themselves, listen to their favourite songs, do some dancing, and just have a good time. So many of our young people really enjoy music but have limited opportunities to enjoy it in a group setting with peers, so we created our own disco a few years ago! We have themed discos and also ensure all of our young people’s music preferences are promoted across our 2 hour session to ensure everyone has a good time. Here’s a few of our dancers from last week’s disco!

January 2026

We were thrilled to run our first face-to-face Behaviour Technician training with 5 of our team members. Given the changes meaning that the RBT is no longer a viable route for UK-based practitioners, we have updated our training to be more UK- and BEAM-centric. Spread over 4-5 months, we will provide a combination of face-to-face and online training on various modules and topics, as well as regular assessments and tasks. The training aligns with UK-SBA standards and we look forward to further updates from the UK-SBA on the UKvBA certification.

December 2025

We had a lovely end of year evening with awards, games, and music. Given the nature of our work, it’s so difficult to find time to get together, so we were really happy that so many of our team could make it. All awards were given based on colleagues’ votes which made them extra special, but the night was more about having a good time with people we rarely get to catch up with face-to-face! Here are a few snaps from the evening of some of the team – don’t they all look fabulous!

November 2025

We had a great time with members of the SENSE Team at our first ever Sensory Sports Training! Our team members and young people really enjoyed engaging with the different activities and circuits, and we look forward to working more closely with SENSE in providing meaningful activities to the young people we support that promote health and wellbeing!

We announce our new Clinical Career Progression Plan!

We are so excited to share that we have finalised our Clinical Career Progression Plan. In the coming weeks and months, we will be rolling this out for all of our team, with our updated Progression Plan closely aligning with the UK-SBA competences and frameworks. All of our team can see where they are on their journey to date and can plan where they would like to get to in the months and years ahead. Various members of our team have helped to develop and input into this Plan, which we hope everyone can benefit from!

BEAM present at UK-SBA 2025 Conference

BEAM were delighted to present at the 2025 UK-SBA Conference in March 2025 in a talk entitled “Learning After Education: Home- and community-based interventions for autistic adults with a learning disability”. We were thrilled to be part of the two days and are looking forward to presenting again in 2026. It was also great to meet so many like-minded professionals and to hear about some of the great work that was being done across multiple settings within the UK. We also had a helpful update from the UK-SBA board members to better understand the steps ahead for moving across to full UK-SBA accreditation.
