About

Team Teach training provides schools and organisations with accredited training that helps practitioners understand the functions of behaviour, whilst working on proactive and reactive strategies designed to keep students, service users, clients, and staff safe.

As practitioners, we may support individuals with complex needs who need support with barriers to their communication, to social interaction, to accessing their community safely, and so on. We may support individuals who display behaviours of concern, and our role as practitioners is to have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively provide this support.

Team Teach training can improve our confidence and competence, and also is a very good way to reflect on our values as practitioners and as a school or organisation.

What it consists of

The course focuses on:

Understanding the functions of behaviour

Proactive and preventative strategies

De-escalation and other reactive strategies

Values-based approach

Law and guidance as it relates to positive handling

We can provide Team Teach training to your team in a range of settings, including:

SEN schools

Residential homes

Supported living services

Home- and community-based domiciliary care organisations

Level One training is a one-day, 6 hour course

Level Two training is a two-day, 12 hour course

Who delivers your training

Practitioners who work in the field! We know the realities – we do it every day! – and so we will work with you and your team in making the training as practical and realistic as possible. We have experience supporting staff teams who support individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health struggles, communication difficulties, some of whom behaviours of concern.

We are NOT full-time trainers! Whilst we do work with schools and social care organisations in training staff – as well as our own staff! – we mainly work in the field. We are passionate about disseminating information, skills, and knowledge to help you and your team to grow and develop. Most importantly, we work to individualise the course to best suit your needs – there’s nothing worse than regurgitating generic content!
